What is computer-delivered IELTS?

We have made it easier and more convenient for you to take your IELTS test. You can now take your test on a computer. With computer-delivered IELTS, the Listening, Reading and Writing sections are taken on a computer. The Speaking section is still done with a trained IELTS examiner, as we believe it is the most effective way of assessing your speaking skills.

To learn more about the test format and its advantages, please visit our computer-delivered IELTS page.

COMPUTER-DELIVERED IELTS FAMILIARISATION VIDEOS

We have created a series of online videos dedicated to computer-delivered IELTS, which will help you understand how the Listening, Reading and Writing sections appear on the computer and show you the different functionalities available. Make sure to watch the whole series, so that you feel confident and ready on your test day.

How to prepare for computer-delivered IELTS?

To help you prepare for computer-delivered IELTS, we have prepared a list of our online practice materials you can use free of charge. The materials will help you prepare for different test sections and at the end, you will be able to test your knowledge with an online familiarisation test.

LISTENING, READING AND WRITING PRACTICE TESTS

To start, head over to our Take IELTS website  and try out our practice tests which focus on our Listening, Reading and Writing sections. You will find practice tests for both IELTS General Training and Academic.

TAKE THE COMPUTER-DELIVERED IELTS SIMULATOR

Once you've gone through our practice tests, you can keep practising by trying out the computer-delivered IELTS simulator, developed by our partners at Clarity.

Simply follow the link for either IELTS Academic or IELTS General Training , select the section you want to practice for, click on the Test practice button and choose the first set of exercises.

If you are having difficulties accessing the materials, we have provided a visual guide below.

While on the page, you can also take a look at video testimonials and advice from previous test-takers. We recommend you also use the IELTS score simulator  feature, to better understand how well you need to do on each section to get the score you need.

If you take the test with us, you will also be able to unlock additional content on this website, free of charge!

TAKE OUR FAMILIARISATION TEST

Once you feel confident that you are ready for your test, you can try out our computer-delivered IELTS familiarisation test . The familiarisation test completely matches the format and test types of the actual test you will take, so we highly suggest you take it so that you feel ready and relaxed on your test day.

Note that the test covers the Listening, Reading and Writing sections and it lasts for about two and a half hours, same as the real one. You can choose to take both IELTS General Training and Academic test.
